Welcome to The Countryside Alliance Foundation.

Dear Supporter,

The Countryside Alliance Foundation is a vital new charity set up to co-operate with the Countryside Alliance to build on the element of Alliance work that has always been inherently charitable. This includes educating the public about the countryside and helping to protect the natural environment. By introducing adults and children alike to the dramatic realities of rural Britain, we hope to inspire them to find out more and become passionate enough to share our aims and values.

Our first priority is to create a valuable education resource for teachers in primary and secondary education. Work will begin on this major project in 2008.

In the coming months and years, the charity is planning to unveil a series of important initiatives, including an open day schedule for taking new people into the countryside, a film scholarship programme and a rural skills scheme. We will also work hand-in-hand with like-minded charities to maximise the best balance of skills.

Our Aims

Our aims are:

  • Promoting the conservation, protection and improvement of the environment.
  • Supporting access and conservation projects that protect features of wildlife flora and fauna in the British countryside.
  • Promoting agriculture for the public benefit.
  • Educating the public in subjects relating to the conservation, protection, and enjoyment of the countryside.
  • Promoting sustainable development through research and the prudent use of natural resources.
